THIS OLD TOWN: The lost art of blueberrying
Mansfield -The trouble with picking blueberries was, they thrived in the most uncomfortable places. Like mosquito-infested swamps where the water ran cold against your rubber boots.and the bullbrier jungles were dense enough to skin a rabbit.Or the borders of sun-baked pastures, where you’d spend a half hour plucking the fruit of one monster bush, sweating gumdrops while you fought off deer flies with your free hand.

Business in a bind
Mansfield -Being the owner of a small bookshop isn’t an easy task these days.
Book Ends in downtown Mansfield could decide by end of the summer to close its doors and the Stoughton Book Shop recently was sold to new owners. On the bright side, Paperback Junction in Easton says they are going strong.
Book Ends owner June Moore said she is considering closing her shop, a fixture on North Main Street for 15 years. Moore took over ownership of the business close to two years ago from Mansfield resident Doreen Tighe, who owned it for a decade.
Unfortunately Borders also opened in the new Mansfield Crossing mall last October.
